I have only 2 weeks to go and we didn't find out what we are having BUT everyone is asking. They keep asking me about the heart beat - is it fast or slow for a girl? I have been given conflicting info. and I know every baby is different but if you can share any info. I'd appreciate it.

I think they say it's fast for a girl and slower for a boy, but I could be wrong. I got sick of people asking too. Most everyone would just pronounce which sex I was having. They would take one look and proclaim either boy or girl. It was kind of interesting, though, because most people said boy and I did have a boy. But that could have just been 50/50 in their favor! Good luck w/ everything.

That is how all six of mine worked. Fast was the girls, slow was the boys. When my sister was pregnant last year, they couldn't tell her what she was having for a while. My bil is about as country as they come...and bless his heart, he came straight to me asking for my "expert opinion". As the heartbeat was slow, I said boy...and baby Kirby Michael was born March 10th!! You haven't told us how fast/slow YOURS is, though!??!! LOL

I can safely say that it is fast for a girl slow for a boy.....

BUT I can also say this is wrong, we are having a boy and his heart rate has never dropped below 155 the entire 35 weeks.

So you can tell them the heart rate but it won't matter. This is just another old wives tales. matter of fact my ob does not even know which one is correct. So i did a "search" online.

With both of our boys, their heart rates were in the 160's the whole time, meanwhile a friend of ours whose baby's heart rate was in the 130's the whole time had a girl. So I guess that kind of shoots that theory down, huh?

My boys had fast heart beats. I think it all is a bunch of baloney and you won't know anything until he or she makes an appearance!

They're all old wives tales. I carried both my boys low and my youngest had a heartrate of 160 at his 8 week ultrasound (which is on the high end). And my sisters and I were all supposed to be boys, I think, based on our heartrates.

Just what I figured every baby is different! My heart beats have fluctuated but tend to be about 145.
