I am about 7 1\2 months pregnant. This week has been so humid ( high 90s) that I have to take a cool shower everyday to smell good and keep cool. What are you other pregnant ladies doing out there to stay cool in this summer heat?

I've been really lucky this summer, because the weather has been relatively cool. Texas summers are usually awful. When it gets really hot, I carry a little spritzer bottle of water around with me. I keep my hair tied up so it's off my neck (which is so much easier since I bit the bullet and had like 12 inches cut off last year). I spritz myself with water whenever I start to feel uncomfortable. I also spritz my daughter.

I try to stay inside during the really hot part of the day. Oh, and I'm going to take my truck in to get the windows tinted. :happy dance:

I am only 21 weeks pregnant and the heat here is pretty bad too. We stay inside with the a/c on for most of the day. I love ice chips and popsicles. We went to my nephews b-day party last week and we had snow cones. So now I really want a snow cone machine!
We get out the swimming pool every once in a while too. The girls play and I sit on a chair with my feet in the water. I get the patio umbrella and shade my chair too. It's pretty relaxing. I have splash wars with the girls too and they like that.

It's been bad here in Houston, and soooo humid. I'm 28 weeks and thelast week my feet have been so swollen that it's not just painful to walk, but I can't even curl my toes :s

I'm trying to stay inside as much as possible, and have been having to put ice packs n my feet. I've never swelled like this EVER in my life, so a little worried. I'm not very big by nature, so it's weird seeing my toes so huge and not fitting into my usual shoes. There's not much keeping me cool inside other than fans, since I'm to cheap to turn the A/C down below 83 before 10pm, but hopfully the worst of the heat will be over soon. I'm not much of a cold shower person, I take a hot one every day, even if I'm hot, habit I guess.

I am just trying to stay inside! lol

But seriously wear cool clothes that can breathe and I make sure I have a huge jug of tea or water with lots of ice at all times. That really helps to keep me cool. I try to stay in the shade when possible too. Dh and I are outside a lot too.

Definitely go swimming if you can, that would help cool you off.
