Whoa my OB just told me that Braxton Hicks doesn't start until 35 weeks of pregnancy. I am 25 wks now and during my first pregnancy I had it early around 22-23 wks. Every visit he keep putting me in the monitor to make sure I'm not having an early labor. I'm also taking Magnesium pills. Is every pregnancy different when it comes to braxton hicks contractions? could it come early then the next pregnancy is much later? was he right? The OB from my first pregnancy told me different thing he said it starts around 23 wks and I've been reading and searching in the web. He seems right to me but my OB now seems a little worried about me having an early labor.

With my last two pregnancies I started getting them a little past 20 weeks and never went into early labor. My OB didn't have any concern either, I think it's normal to have them a bit earlier than 35 weeks.

It is different for every women with every pregnancy. The most important thing is to know if they are real or BH contractions. BH contractions never are regular and they go away typically if you lay down on your left side and drink a big glass of water. They also are not an indication you will have pre-term labor.

Not to disagree with your doc but its actually fairly common for women to have them earlier.

However if your doctor is concerned about pre term labor take his advice seriously. He might have additional reasons for worrying.
