I am hating the thought of being on bedrest for possibly another 3 weeks. So, what can I do to ease the "pain" of having to sit still??

I've got a book and some movies....what else??

I watched ALOT of tv!!! Sleep alot too! I hope you have someone watching the boys, because after about a week in bed, you really lose all strength!!

Good luck!!

Oh, I liked those ring a word searches too!

I have a friend that is on bedrest at the hospital for at least a MONTH right now. She has requested movies, puzzle books and visitors/calls to keep her sane.

Keep the computer close at hand! lol

Hand held video games....like poker, black jack or tetris. Take this opportunity to send a card to someone you have lost touch with or have been meaning to write. Make phone calls to friends. Cross stitch or crochet if you know how. Paint your nails. ..............RELAX.

If you knit or crochet, this is a good time to work on it. I mentioned in your other thread that I was on bedrest for 13-1/2 weeks while I was pregnant with the twins. If you can, a little fridge next to your bed is nice. Keep it stocked with water (and anything else you might want to have handy). You'll want to keep drinking lots of water in order to keep those contractions at bay. Movies and old TV shows are good (you can get DVDs of old I Love Lucy's and Friends...stuff like that at the library). I actually read a LOT. Dh would bring home stacks of books from the library, and I'd go through 10 or 15 books in a week....seriously! I haven't read that much since grade school!! Plan to have a "bedrest station" in your bedroom, and maybe another in the living room, so you can have a change of scenery. I used to also take long baths during the morning because I heard that soaking in a pool or tub was supposed to help regulate amniotic fluid levels (my twins had TTTS...Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome). Keep a computer closeby, if possible, and you're going to need lots of help with your other kiddos during this time.

A little area set up within reach containing: Computer, tv remote, telephone, magazines, trashy novels, lotion, quick snacks and bottles of water. I was on bedrest with Brandon for the second half of the pregnancy and with Tommy, the last 3 weeks before he was born (weeks 30 to 33) were spent in a hospital on STRICT bedrest. I'm talking bedpan for the first week!

Make sure you change positions often, and if you are allowed, use a rocking chair for a few minutes each day. I got a bladder infection from being on bedrest with Brandon that brought on preterm labor (we stopped it thank goodness). My doctor told me after I was able to go home to use the rocking chair every day to stimulate blood flow to the pelvic area to prevent infections.

I had a short attention span, so magazines were better than books at that point. I was still in nesting mode so I had dh bring things for me to clean on the bed. Definitely a cordless phone.

There is an organization called Sidelines Sidelines National Support Network. I contacted them when I was on bedrest. Would be worth looking at their website - they are a support group for bedresters, and they do return calls and are sweet. It is free.

Think of that little one you're protecting - makes it all worth it. Oh, and keep snacks, drinks, cold and warm in thermoses, etc. next to the bed.
