Thanks for all the replies. Today I looked on-line at my prescription insurance website. I went ahead and ordered a 90day supply (home delivery) for $40. Now, I'm wondering why I can get 90 days home delivery for for the same amount for 30 days at a brick and mortar pharmacy?!?!!

Sorry to hijack this thread but what is the difference between the prescription ones and over the counter? There must be some ingredient or strenght difference? Anyone know? I always wondered.

I had the same problem with my prenatel vitamins being horribly expensive. That's why with my last pregnancy I got the okay from my doctor to use over the counter prenatals. I used Target brand and had no problems. You can check with your doctor, but as far as I know they are basically the same (they might not have the DHA yet but everything else should be basically the same).

I used the Twin-Lab brand Pre natal Vitamins for the pregnant it says it is also good for lactating. So I need to go get more but they were 25.00 for a 90 day supply and they are capsules so they dissolve faster. This way you ensure you get all of the needed vitamins in your system I read an article not long ago about alot of prenatal vitamins taking to long to dissolve so you didn;t get full potential of the vitamins. If interested PM me and I can find the article. I got them at Sprouts but you can also get them at other natural type market places like Howe's and I think Trader Joes.

I get them from my midwife and only pay 21.00 for a two month supply. I think you can get some really good ones from a heath food store, like a GNC or something like that.

Goodnight Moon, I believe you are taking what I am. I has a problem once, so make sure this isn't happening:

Each Box contains a thirty day supply of two pills each: The Prenatal and the Omega. So, there are 60 tablets, for a thirty day supply, rather than 30. The pharmacist ran it through wrong so it showed 60 tablets, like a 60 day supply, so I was charged a double copay. Be sure they aren't doing that for you. And it is on our "good" list with my insurance, but my copay is still $25 ea. month for the 30 day supply.

Thanks for the heads up, it does get confusing with taking two at a time. I am sooooo glad for the prenatals with omegas. My ds(8) takes 1 tsp of Nordic Naturals cod liver oil every day and my dd (6 and NT) takes 2 of the Nordic Naturals capsules for children. I think it's so important for the kids to get the Omega 3s since we definitely don't eat enough fish (we try to avoid mercury).

I was told the over the counter kinds were fine as well. I get mine at the grocery store for $3 and some change and there are 100 pills in the bottle. Awesome deal!
