I'm so excited!! I actually thought I would be more worried and anxious about this appointment today, but with the house buying mess we're going through at the moment (refer to the Chit-Chat forum), I really haven't had time to be! I guess its a good thing!
Anyway, the appointment went great. LOVE the doctor...he is awesome!! I know some of you wanted to hear about how this went (ahem...newlywed0610)

so that's why I'm posting all the details! Sorry its so long!
Ok, so I found out the doctor himself isn't really a fertility doctor. He's a regular OB/GYN but he said that by seeing him first I'll save myself a LOT of money because he can do all the initial things a fertility specialist would at little or no cost to me. Basically he said if what he does isn't working, he'll refer me to a specialist so they can break out the big guns (

) and in the process save me some $$. Fine with me! So anyway, like I said, he was very, very nice and at first we just talked, went over my history, I told him how long we've been trying, about my periods, etc. He asked if I'd been charting my temps or using any ovulation monitors or anything and I said I had tried but because my periods are irregular that I figured I was wasting my time because my temps were always the same! He said no biggie. He told me we would start off small and run some tests to determine what the issue might be. He did a quick exam to check my uterus and ovaries and said everything looked good. He ordered blood work to check my hormone levels (ouch! that lab tech was NOT very good...) and then had me make an appointment to come back in one week (I got really lucky there!) for an ultrasound to get a better look at everything and see if there are cysts or anything on my ovaries. He said once we've done that, if he can't determine what the issue might be, he'll do a semen analysis and then some sort of test where they inject dye into my uterus and then do a scan to see if my tubes are blocked. He said we should have some sort of plan by the end of the next visit and if not, he would order the other tests (semen and dye test) and for sure after that we should have a course of action. He mentioned Clomid and that it might be a possibility so we'll see. I'm curious to see the results of my blood work and what the ultrasound shows next week. I haven't ever had one done when I wasn't pregnant so that should be interesting. I'll keep you posted!! So far so good! I'm encouraged that I'm slowly starting to make progress!!
