When did you start making sure that the house was "just right" for your baby? What did your "nesting" consist of? Was your dh supportive or did it drive him nuts?

I didn't nest with dd#1, as we lived with my mil.. But holy baby! When dd #2 came I started about 3-4 months prego.. I planned a paint party , to paint the outside of our home. Bought new windows. Had dh re-do all the bedrooms paint and carpet. [ These where in the works] I think I drove dh nuts.. I think I'm still nesting 20 months after dd #2 was born..LOL!!

I started nesting as soon as we found out! We've been remodeling the basement to move the office downstairs, getting the babies room and guest room ready, etc. I've also been sorting through boxes and boxes of clutter since I moved into what was essentially a bachelor pad a year and a half ago. I've spent the last week cleaning since I'm now off work and I actually have gotten so much done that I'm not sure what to do with these last 10 days of "nesting" I have left!

I think I nest the entire time I'm pregnant! it really hits about 25 weeks for me. I start making my lists, and thinking about everything that I have to do to get ready. I even started making my list of what I needed to take to the birth, and a few weeks before the baby is born I have it packed and ready. If I don't, it will drive me crazy and I can't sleep.

Dh does a good job of dealing with me, he just knows to stay out of the way, and not to touch my lists!!

I only nested with the first pregnancy. We moved on Saturday, and I stayed up until her room was unpacked. Went to work the next day and went into labor.

I guess I started nesting not long ago. I am 32+ weeks right now and I have a huge list of things I want to get done and I'm working very hard at getting things in order so I have less to worry about once she gets here.

However it could just be because I've been so tired that the house has fallen apart so I'm finally at the point where I'm just tired of looking at a messy unorganized house!

I can't remember when I started but it was early on. I don't think it bothered DH very much because he appreciates a clean and tidy house as much as I do, but it sure was tiring! When we moved while I was about 20 weeks, I stayed up for 30+ hours (I know! Crazy!) unpacking! I couldn't stop myself!! I also continued nesting for months after DS was born. Our appartment was always super clean and neat and I washed all his baby clothes in Dreft, the whole nine yards! It was funny. I remember one night when DS fell asleep on DH's chest and it was right after I got the 6 week all clear from the Dr. Boy oh boy I busted my butt and cleaned the ENTIRE house in one night! I would clean a little, check on them, clean some more, check on them, etc. I wore myself out, but my house got cleaned!!

I would say I started nesting about a month before my DD was born. But the last week I went crazy. Cleaning everything, I was so soar afterwords that I was hoping I would not go into labor because my body was so exhausted already. I had my baby 3 days latter right on her due date. My body had just recovered then my back was sore for the next month from all of the pushing. But it was all worth it.
