The breast feeding threads, got me thinking. I was one that was just not comfortable with the whole idea of breastfeeding, and choose not too.

Another thing that I never was comfortable with was taking baths with my babies. I know a LOT of mom's that do this. And more power to them. But I just never felt comfortable with this.

Am I alone with this one??

He bathed with his daddy when he was younger and now they shower together. It is their nightly tradition and he LOVES it. But he never bathed with Mommy, expect once when he was sick and didn't want to bathe alone.

I took a bath w/ DS once when he was somewhere in the 6-9 mo range, I think. I don't thing there's really anything wrong w/ it at that age. They don't know. They're not going to remember. The drs etc say skin to skin contact is good and all that. But I just couldn't get over the fact that I was in the bath with my son. So I only did it once. It was fun.

Sometimes kids wont give you any privacy. At our old house the bathroom had two entrances, and only one of them locked, so my little girl was always running in the bathroom to jump in my bath. My son is almost 16 now, I am sure I probably took a bath with him a couple of times, but I don't really remember. If I did he would have been very young.

I do right now since she's outgrown her tub and I only have a partial bath mat. I sit in the area that isn't covered so she won't crawl there and slip. I also took baths with her for the first few months since she was terrified of them. She got over her fear and I moved her to her tub.

I have never taken a bath with my kids. I have held them in the shower when they were infants, but that is about all. Not so much because i have a problem with it, but because when i am in a tub i want to relax.

I did bathe with both of my kids. My dh did also when they were VERY young, but quit before I did. I don't remember how old they were when I stopped, but they were several years old I know.

We were paranoid so we bathed with the kids until they could sit up on their own well. They just felt so slippery and I didn't want to lose my grip and have them drown. That's what went through my head anyway.

When mine were really little I bathed them in the baby tubs... then when they started crawling they would climb up on the tub and cry till I put them in with me... They are lil waterbugs. They are now 5, 2 and 1 so my 5yrold DD bathes alone with my supervision and I bathe 2 DS together. Sometimes my 1yrold DS still hops in the tub with me.... I feel like until he ask questions he should be ok in the tub with me...

I do until they are about 3 years old, then they bathe alone. My son is almost seven so of course I do not bathe with him. He sometimes takes baths with DD but she is almost 2. I do take baths with her because she comes in and gets mad because I am taking a bath without her. Then I feel bad, if I really want to be alone I wait until DH is home and I shut the door. It doesn't bother me taking baths with them at her age as they get older I would feel uncomfortable with it and think it to be inappropriate.
