Cloth or disposable?
If cloth, what is your favorite kind? Liners? Any tips for cleaning, etc.?
If disposable, what is your favorite brand? Why?

For my oldest we used pampers because that was 21 years ago and that was pretty much what there was!! For my next one we used cloth. We folded the diapers, secured them with pins and covered with plastic pants. It was not hard at all. He had bad reactions to disposable ones and he was not in daycare. With the next 5 kids, we used whatever was cheapest in disposables. Usually it was Target brand or Luvs. They were all in daycare at least part of the time and I was too busy with all those kids to be washing diapers.

I use cloth. I like the Kushies brand. You can find them on Walmart's website. They have all in one's, but I always use the Kushies wrap cover over them. It seems they leak if I don't. I also use prefolds for my backup diapers with the same wraps. Oh, Kushies are cool b/c there are only 2 sizes too. Easier to keep up with.
I like BioKleen for detergent. 1 Tblsp takes care of a whole load! If I need to "bleach", I use baking soda, and then put vinegar in a downy ball for softening. My biggest advice for washing diapers is to Rinse, rinse and when in doubt, run that rinse cycle again. There should be no smell or detergent left in the fabric.
I got started on cloth b/c my son was allergic to some chemical in disposables. I was impressed at how much less trash I had from diapers and then began to realize that with multiple children, it really is a cost savings too!

disposable. I would have loved to do cloth but I want dh to help. I love and only buy pampers, I have tried luvs leaked all over the place every time, huggies they didn't fit her body right and could not walk correcty in them. I did use some dept store brands tho when she was in 1s and 2s just becasue she was not in them long at all.

We use cloth and love it. We use Fuzzi Bunz pocket diapers. I have a kitchen trash can with a liner in my laundry room, where his changing area is too, and I just drop the diaper, insert, and wipe (we use baby washcloths) right in. I wash about every other night or every 3rd night. I just dump it all in the washer, run a cold rinse, hot wash, cold rinse. Sometimes an extra cold rinse if there are still some sudsies. Then I either toss them in the dryer or lay them out on a collapsable drying rack and put it on the back porch. Honestly, my diaper laundry is the easiest load I do.
I sprinkle a little baking soda in the pail to help with odors, but really we don't have stink issues anyway.
Check out www.diaperswappers.com for tons of cloth diapering info. Fuzzi Bunz - THE Pocket Diaper - for the actual diapers we use and love.

Disposables. I use the BJ's brand for day and Luvs at night - pretty happy with both at the moment. Loved Pampers with my first but after awhile I couldn't justify the extra cost over store brands. I've also used Target, CVS, and Parent's Choice as well as Huggies.

I had a hard time getting passed the smell of Luvs for some reason. With dd she blew out of pampers all the time, they did not fit her well, but of course huggies did
Eventually we went with the walmart brand ( parent's choice? ) they were actually very good!
I have so many varieties of diapers from my shower so we'll see what one's fit this little one.

Disposable - Pampers. I tried every other brand I could find, but Pampers were the best for us. Plus, I buy them in bulk at Sam's Club, so they're pretty cheap.

Disposables. Pampers are my favorite and seem to fit the best. Huggies are good but don't always seem to fit every child. I tried Luvs and my child got a horrible rash from them.
