I've got 3 more weeks to go and this morning my hemroids seems to have flared up (too much info? -- sorry). I've tried so hard not sitting and drinking lots of water. I've been eating my fruits and fibre as well. I did have hemroids with my first two pregnancies but they had never flared up, and ouch it hurts like anything. What can I do to relieve the pain. I went out and brought preparation H. I've taken baths as well. Anything else I can do? Thanks so much.

We had another sufferer here a couple of weeks ago. Buy Tucks pads (not the generic - they just don't work as well) and put some Prep H on them and put them right against where it hurts. Wear a sanitary pad for protection.

Also, Walgreens carries Sitz baths - just a plastic basin, not expensive, and you can start those early - the hospital will have you doing it there postpartum w/their equipment. Do a hot one, a warm one, a cold one and even an iced one. Believe me, even the iced one will feel good. You can also buy some flexible ice packs, freeze them, wrap them and put them there. Those can also be found in all sizes. Don't bother using donuts - it just stretches the area more.

I feel for ya!
I had them a couple weeks ago. I was only 29 weeks when they flared up. They are just getting better. I actually forgot to buy stuff when I went to the store so I just toughed it out. I did do a couple warm baths. That has seemed to help.
Also, use the flushable moist wipes. They are alot nicer than using toilet paper.

Hate to be graphic but take the warmest shower you can handle or just crank up the heat for a few minutes and spread you cheeks and let the water flow between them for a few minutes...it helped relieve mine every time

I use desitin too...lol

Also, from my experiance with them this pregnancy, the baby is SO SO SO low and I seem to "go" quite often, it is making them worse. I don't know if it's because of the added pressure of a lil head in that region that is contributing to it, but it is not nice.

Good luck and congrats! 3 weeks to go

thanks ladies. I have been taking warm bath and today it seems to hurt a lot less. I've been using preparation H. I will try the desitin since I just brought that for the baby. I will try and get the Tucks wipes. It's just hard sitting, so I sit and lay on my sides instead but driving is bit of a pain. I've been working for home for 2 weeks now, so I don't have to go into the office, but I still have to get in the car to pick up the boys from school.
