I went to my OB yesterday and he told me that my cervix is open about 1/8 of an inch. I'm 34 wks and 2 days but he did gave me some encouragement that its not "serious" and that I can still "walk" and do my "normal routine" I know I'm getting close because her head is pushing down hard and my incision area from my previous C-section is hurting every time she move. He did mentioned however, that majority of the women their cervix will start opening slowly at 35 wks and it would last until 37 wks. I'm scared right now I mean as much as I want to get her out of me at the same time I don't think she's ready yet. I hope she will stay there for another two weeks at least.

Try not to worry too much. It sounds like the doctor is not, so that is good. I will pray for you for a healthy pregnancy and delivery.

I went into pre-term labor at 35 weeks and my cervix was 3 cms open. I was put in bed rest( can walk around house, but nothing strenuous and obviously no shopping) and my OB gave me some prescription pill(14 days) to stop labor. I went into labor in the 38th week and DD was born happy and healthy.

Don't strain too much. Try to avoid stairs and getting in and out of the car. I used to keep my legs up on the ottoman always. Try to watch TV, read books or sit in this forum and read - keep ur mind away from ur pregnancy.

Honestly, try not to worry. Most women who have had a previous baby will start to dilate a few weeks before they go into labor. I know I did. I was so excited with my last because at 35 I was dilated 2 cm - and stayed that way until she was born at 39 weeks. So it's really nothing to worry about and if your little one does come early, she'll be fine. Just take it easy and try not to worry!
