Was this a must have for you or a complete waste of money? I grew to dislike mine and gave it away. The refills were also expensive IMO. I recommend for new moms to just save up grocery sacks and use that to dispose of stinky diapers.

Waste of money. I hated changing the bag when it was full and we take the trash out daily so I would say not to get it. We got rid of ours and are not getting one for the new baby.

Ahh...everyone is different. I LOVED my diaper genie when the kids were small!

I thought it was a complete waste of money. Besides having to buy the refills, it did not help with the diaper odors as much as it is supposed to.

I had the Diaper Dekor because I figured I could use it anywhere after I didn't use it for diapers anymore. I used it for diapers for about the first year or so, and LOVED it.

Now it is on the back porch, and it doesn't look like a diaper pail at all...so I say that version is worth the money.

Conplete waste of money!! I hated mine. The baggies never worked right after I used up the first roll. It was more work than it was worth. It kept control of the smell until it was time to dump it than it was gross!!! I agree, with the grocery store bags. That is what I use. I have family members set aside their bags for me.

IMO WASTE of money! I've been given two different ones and hated them both! Too expensive for refills and they aren't eco-friendly!

I use cloth diapers and have the Diaper Champ since I can just use a large regular trash bag...obviously I wouldn't want to individually wrap my diapers anyway. It keeps the smell away fine so I would recommend it for regular diapers as well.

I have two Diaper Genies, one for upatairs and one for downstairs. My daughter is now 15 months old and we are expecting a new baby in March. I truly think it was a waste of money to buy the Diaper Genies. They do a terrible job of holding in odor, and I think the plastic they are made of actually began to absorb diaper odors. I have used bleach, vinegar, baking soda, you name it to get rid of the odor and I can't. It was also a huge pain to cut the bags when it was time to empty the pail. I am ready to throw them both out. I think I will resort to a regular lidded trash can with regualr trash bags. We take our trash out daily anyway.
