My English Cocker Spaniel dog has done it again. When I was pregnant with DS she would get my underwear out of the laundry basket and chewed on it. Now she is doing it again. I have a theory that maybe she can "smell" that a new baby is coming but I never really understood why she keeps doing it. Can anyone please tell me if this is normal for a pet to do this? I notice a pattern that she did this when I was 33 wks pregnant with DS before and now with this new one coming she started doing it last week (33 wks) what's up with that?

That is strange that it only does it when your around that time in your pregnancy. Perhaps you are emitting off different hormones?

No, not strange at all, dogs are gross....most of our dogs would do it all the time if we had let them, and I have never been pregnant. Does yours only do this when you're preggo, or is that just a coincidence? Most dogs will do it, no matter when, just because they smell like you.

No she only do this when I'm pregnant and around 33 wks. That's why I wonder why she is doing this and why is it around the same time?

I bet it's something w/ hormones, my sil & I were just talking this weekend how we hate that bil's dogs always run straight to us and sniff our crotches during our period! It's the only times they do it, so I would guess it's some hormone or something they are smelling. Maybe there's some change in your hormones about this time in your pregnancy and he can smell it?

I swear dogs can sense things that we don't understand. We really believe that our dog knew I was pregnant before we did because she all of a sudden became very protective of me. Your dog knows something is up!

PS- Cockers are SOOO cute!
