I am 8 weeks 2 days pregnant. My first pregnancy*! At my ultrasound on Thursday I was diagnosed with a possible bicornuate or split uterus. The ultra tech and doctor both said that it is a waiting game some women do fine others have a really tough time. This is tearing me apart.
We saw the baby at the u/s and we heard the heartbeat I can not imagine something bad happening.
I have read everything out there on the internet about it. But, Does anyone have this? Or know someone who has this? Their/your stories would help me to bring some reality to this.

I have it and didn't find out until I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy. It was found that that was not the cause of the miscarriage. I went on to have 2 healthy children and I recently had another miscarriage but will be trying again soon. I was watched very closely by my OBGYN and had several ultrasounds through both pregnancys. Both of my children were delivered via c-section for other reasons on top of the issue with my Uterus.

My best goes out to you and I hope you have a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Do you have a Family Dr or an OBGYN?? I would highly suggest an OBGYN. In my case, the OBGYN did the ultrasounds himself and was very in tune to the problem and that gave me so much reassurance!

I am seeing an OB/GYN but they seem sort of unconcerned about the situation, I basically demanded that I go to the city to see a specialist just so I can get some of my questions answered like where the embryo is placed, and how severe mine is. I am scheduled to see the specalist on Oct. 23rd

Your sucessful pregnancies make me so happy! I am glad to hear that there is alot of hope out there for women with this. May I ask if your doctor ever told you how severe your split was, and at what week did you doctor believe that your pregnancies were viable, or there was a reduced chance of misscariage??

unfortunately they may seem unconcerned because you are only 8 weeks and only time will tell. i did not have this condition but my first two pregnancies were miscarriage and i was fortunate enough to have an ob that looked into why this was happening(they were fairly tramatic ones not going to go into detail) but she told me that most obs will allow a woman to have over 6 miscarriages before they will consider you to have fertility issues. if you are not comfortable with this ob office try seeking out a new one... and good for you for demanding a specialist i hope they can give you the answers you are looking for... many prayers for you.

I also had a bicornuate uterus and had a healthy first pregnancy! I went on to have it repaired between my 1st and 2nd and have had good pregnancies and no miscarriages. They say that is not likely that you will miscarry, you just might deliver early because there is not as much room for the baby to grow, but my daughter was born on her due date, so not to worry!! Just enjoy the pregnancy!!!

Just wanted to send good thoughts and prayers! I don't have this, but another scary situation, and it is so hard. Especially when "specialists" come into conversation! Glad to hear that others have had this and everything was ok.

Don't read too much on the net!!! lol it will drive you nuts

take care and use this as a reason to put your feet up!!!

Just wanted to update everyone since someone posted to this post....at about 10 weeks I went to a specialist to find that I have a unicornuate uterus or one that only has one side But though the doctors are worried about preterm labor and a c-sections so far they do not think it will lead to any major problems.
Thank you ladies for all your support!
I am now 21 weeks pregnant and things are going very well!!!! I am on limited activity but besides that I am healthy and the baby is healthy*!
Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers and keep them comming for a safe delivery!!

You are well into your pregnancy. Congratulations! I'm glad it's going so well. Just know that when your body is tired or sore, you HAVE to rest.
