The epidural thread got me thinking. I had one with my first and had a c-section with my second. I am trying for a VBAC. I would like to go without a epidural. The thing is I am getting a little scared. I am almost a week past my due date and it doesn't seem this baby wants to come out. I am afraid I will have to be induced. I know this is worse and even more painful than a natural birth. It will be really hard to do without an epidural and I am also afraid of getting Pitocin because it can cause uterine rupture and I have been cut for a c-section already. I almost think that I should have stuck with a C-Section. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?

many women have "late" babies. but you might question the doctor's accuracy in guessing the baby's birthdate. sometimes they could be off. that's all they can do is guess. so don't be too concerned. i would say that if baby doesn't come next week, then maybe ask if induction is right for you. don't do it if the baby is okay, and you are okay. obviously if there is a real medical reason for induction, like you or your baby are in danger, then an induction is beneficial.

just try to wait it out. i know the last few weeks of pregnancy are very blah.
