I know that this is just ather one of those glorious pregnancy symptoms, but how soon after having the baby will it go away?

Mine has gotten so bad I am scared to use knives, I can't pick up anything heavier than a cup of water without dropping it, and moving my hands like to brush my teeth or hair is horrible. I'm terrified I'll drop the baby once I have him!! Thank goodness 10 days til the due date. I hope this horrible pins and needles feeling goes away. I can hardly do anything, including typing. Tkaes forever.

Keep drinking lots of water. This could be from swelling or it could be because baby is resting on and pinching a nerve. It should go away right after you deliver and your body calms down.

It may not go away right after you deliver if there is stil swelling. I had this bad also when I was pregnant with dd. I was induced so I had a lot of swelling after dd was born. I think it took me a couple of weeks after dd was born.

More than likely the baby is resting on a nerve, My oldest son, when I was pregnant used to somehow turn just right and I would fall down. BOOM no warning, he was rolling on all the nerves to my legs and they would just give out!!
It can also be the swelling , that can press on the nerves too, but dont worry to much about it, it will go away when you have the baby..
I would mention it to your doctor though.

This is what it sounds like you have.
I had it as well. It happened to me because I was retaining water, as all pregnant women do and my carpal tunnel was pinching the nerve that tunnels through it.
I got to the point where I could talk on the phone for about 30 seconds and had to hang up because my hands were numb. Blow drying my hair was also a nightmare!
I delivered c section(unplanned) and retained a TON of water after that but I would say my carpal tunnel was gone by shortly after I left the hospital.
Thank goodness!

Doesn't it suck that male children will never grow up to know the pain suffering we've gone through to have them?! LOL!!
