if your child will be right handed or left handed??

(Maybe this should be in the next stage up, so please move if that is the case)

My dd seems to use her left hand an awful lot, just wondering if that means she will be left handed...but then on the other hand she doesn't do so bad with her right hand either...

I am guessing it is too early to even tell, but curious about it none the less.

My son is three and I know he's left handed.
I give him the utensils, pencils/crayons in the middle (by his chest) and he always retrieves them with his left.

My son is 2 year old and I have known for about one year that he is left handed. The doctor said normally you can't tell until they are 3 or 4 year old, but I disagree (in my case anyways).

Here is an interesting article I just found when I googled it:

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

I didn't read all of it...but it looks pretty good.

I'm pretty sure my 4 year old is right-handed but my 2 year old is looking like he will probably be left-handed (which I am excited about since I'm a leftie too). Of course I won't be sure until they start writing, but both seem to have a clearly dominant hand.

my 3 year old uses both hand equally for eating coloring playing ect. he does have better control with the left hand. i asked his ped at his 3 year check up she said if he is using both it can take up until 5 for him to truly decide wich is more comfortable and to not let preschool or kindergarten teachers force him to use one or the other. she said if they do so and he really was the other handed they did not push(like if they pushed righty and hes a lefty) he could struggle down the line with decstarity and writing. i truly think hes a lefty but if you ask him witch hand he likes to color with it changes daily.. now my oldest was definately a righty from the get go and my 1 year old dd tends to use her left for most things so she may also turn out to be a lefty only time will tell... just let your child decide on their own.
