I just wanted to know the month when you started wearing your maternity clothes?

I am in my 9-10 week so beginning of my third month, my pants are wearable using the hair tie trick, and I have gained about 4 lbs, but I have seen some GREAT clothes on clearance...(yes of course) and I have bought some pants, on clearance at Target for 6.25 I could not pass them up. I have seen other things on clearance and things on ebay for good deals like shirts under 10 bucks should I buy what I see on good deals? Or wait until I actually get big so I can gage what I need?

I was in maternity clothes at 8 weeks with both of my pregnancies. I just grew very quickly. It was not an option for me at that point, unless I wanted to wear sweats all the time. If you don't have any maternity clothes, I would go ahead and pick up some here and there. The smaller sizes you will need in the beginning and they are also useful right after you have the baby. And of course you will need larger sizes towards the middle and in the end I couldn't fine any size to cover up the bottom of my low hanging belly. Good luck.

I started wearing maternity clothes early, too - around 8-9 weeks. I would go ahead and get some thing, too, because you make wake up one morning and realize that nothing fits! But, you will probably need some bigger sizes later in pregnancy, too. The key is to buy in moderation in the beginning. I was careful to buy pieces that had growing room in them, too.

I saw wear them as soon as you can...I love maternity clothes because they are like wearing pajamas!!! Plus, then sometimes people can actually tell by your clothes that you are preg-o not just gaining a little! I loved being pregnant, and on my "not so pretty" days having something nice to wear, that actually fit made me feel happy. Wear what's comfortable!
By the way, i found my local thrift store to be a great source of maternity clothes!

This is my second pregnancy so I am wearing the maternity clothes a little sooner than my first. I started at about 10 weeks with the pants, but I was still wearing my larger, but normal shirts still until about 15 weeks. I am 17 weeks now, and am only wearing the maternity clothes now because they just fit much better!

If you are finding good deals on maternity clothes now, I say get them!!!! Trust me, you will wear them eventually. Like someone else mentioned here, you will need the smaller items in the beginning and then at the end you will need some larger things. I would hold off on the really big stuff until the end though. During my first pregnancy, I had no clue my stomach could get so big! It will amaze you! You may not need too many of the super sized clothes, so wait until you know what the weather will be like at that time so that you can be sure to buy only what you need!

My second and third pregnancies I started wearing maternity cloths earlier than my first one. The first preg. i probably started wearing them around 13-14 weeks. With my second it was 10 weeks and with the twins I started at 9 or 10 weeks. In the first pregnancy in the beg. I was wearing a size Med. and bought all med. maternity clothing- only to find that I had to go and buy some larges by the time I was 6 months along- so my adive to you is to buy one size larger- you'll be more comfy and you won't have to go out and buy more stuff later.

This may sound weird, but I wear maternity clothes as soon as I can get away with it without looking dumb. If I'm pregnant, I want everyone to know it and not think I'm gaining weight for no reason. I think the maternity clothes now days are really cute and comfortable. I would buy a few things now and then buy as you go along. I wouldn't buy yet for the last months because some people get bigger than others. With both of mine I wore size small until about the last 3-4 weeks and then I had to go out and get a couple pairs of medium pants to get me to the finish line. Have fun! It's a great excuse to buy yourself a new wardrobe. By the way, Ross has some pretty good prices on maternity clothes and Motherhood's clearance items are good too.

Thankfully, the only thing that grew for me was my belly.
I would purchase looser fitting garments on the clearance section (dresses, skirts) and I'd often find that preggo clothes were more expensive than these.
I've never owned a "maternity" item in my life!

I'm almost 20weeks pregnant with #4. My weight gain thus far is 11 lbs. There are days that I do wear maternity and others I just wear my stretchy yoga pants (my SAHM uniform...LOL). I think you should start wearing maternity as soon as your pre-pregnancy clothes start to get uncomfortable.
