My DD just got her 3rd tooth, it is the top front one. Her other 2 are the bottom front teeth. The one on the top just cut through the gums. But now she is grinding her teeth all of the time. I am worries she is going to hurt herself or wear them down. Also the noise sends chills down my spine. Should I take her to the pediatrician or just wait it out?

Oh, I remember this. My dd (who is now 8) used to do this all the time. The doctor told me it was nothing to worry about. He said that teeth were a new thing to her and she probably thought that it was cool that she could make that grinding sound/sensation. My dd stopped doing this on her own after a few months.

Perhaps you could give her a teether to munch on in lieu of teeth grinding.

Not the best solution, but I could not stand when my kids did that, so I always stuck the pacifier in their mouth when the did it.
