My cousin just named her baby Leegan -- I had never heard that before

Magnus, Merrick and Ajax are all names that aren't just from Anne Rice novels; they are names from Norwegian kings (Magnus), Trojan war heroes (Ajax) and European surnames (Merrick). I wouldn't say that everyone names their children based on vampire books -- I certainly have never read them and I wouldn't connect them. I know a LOT of people that hear names or choose their child's name from a baby book.

I did NOT say that anyone who uses those names got them from one of the novels! Maybe I forgot a couple of words in that post but what I meant was that "I wonder if they got the names from those book AND IF THEY DID, did they not think anyone would recognize them?" I honestly think I forgot a few words. But in no way was I implying that everyone who named their child those names found them in a vampire novel.

When I was pregnant with boy number 5, I told everyone I was going to name him rerun. LOL
But we really named him Gunnar and just the other day someone asked his name and when I said Gunnar, she said "no really? Is that his real name?"
Usually I get the "That is different" comments.

I like Gunnar and if we hadn't named our cat Gunnar our oldest may have the name!

We know a little girl names Kaida (ky id a) but we end up calling her "kayda". I have a Sydney, a Jordan and a Brooklyn, and when we named them their names were very uncommon.
