Do you feel you don't have as much energy as you had when you were younger & pregnant? I am 36 and preggo w/#4. This pregnancy is really dragging me down. I have always been active & fit. This time around, I am just utterly exhausted all the time. The OB told me it would go away (which usually it does around the 2nd trimester) and then when it didn't he told me it's because I'm older. I still walk 3 1/2 miles in the AM and then at least another 2 miles walking to and from school picking up the kiddos. This *never* tired me out before getting pregnant this go 'round.

The OB wants me to stay active and not gain a lot of weight because I have a history of big babies (delivered vaginally) and I have always been a runner (prior to getting pregnant this time). My bloodwork is ok so could this just be my age?!?!

I ABSOLUTELY think it is most likely 'age'.

I had my first child at 20, then another at 22 and another at 25... gestational diabetic but 'fine' with all of them. Typical aches and such of course.

I then had my bitty chick when I was 35.. and OHMY!! I wasn't old until THE DAY I GOT PREGNANT with her! lol THEN ,,, I was officially OLD. I swear, I just HURT and ached and was exhausted and 'even hormone crazy for a few weeks'. It was SO very very different from being pregnant in my 20s. I know each pregnancy is different,, and my first three weren't all identical by any means, but OH YEAH it was SO much 'harder' physically in my 30s. Good part is, the carrying might have been worse, but the RAISING is SO much MORE FUN this time
