Yes, heavy bleeding is normal for miscarriages. But something to look for is if you are soaking a pad an hour you should get checked out to make sure you do not have something else wrong.
I am sorry for your loss.

Kelly,

I am so sorry for your loss.

I have had 2 miscarriages before DD was born - 1 was at 5 weeks and it was more like a normal period. The 2nd one was at 14 weeks - I began to have fever of 102C continiously, but no bleeding at all and then one fine night when I woke up and all my pregnancy symptoms were gone. I had to go for a US followed by a D & E. This was really tough on me emotionally. I can really understand how it is, so hang in there. Praying for you as you through these challenging times.

Cynthia

((((hugs))))

Try to get rest...sleep and drink plenty

I have had 3, they are not nice both emotionally and physically

If it continues hard for another day call your ob. Are they doing blood work to make sure your HCG goes down?

Kelly,

When I miscarried I bleed heavily and was passing big clots. I mean big big clots.

I'm so sorry if this is what is happening. I know the pain.

Yes, the heavy bleeding is normal. The nurse told me it would last about 5 days, but it was more like 9 or 10 before it stopped for good. I was still passing clots probably midway through that time. There's no easy way to ask this - but have they done an ultrasound to make sure the miscarriage was complete and/or are they tracking your HCG levels to make sure they go down to 0? If the bleeding is still heavy enough that you're concerned, it never hurts to call your OBGyn and see what they say.

I'm so sorry this happened. Miscarriages are never, ever easy, especially around the holidays. You and your family continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm sorry, Kelly.

On my last miscarriage, my dr. had me come in either every week or every 2 weeks to ensure my HCG levels were going down normally, to ensure there were no "products of conception" as it was worded, left to cause infection or scarring. If they haven't advised you of such, you may want to ask. My others needed D&Cs, so it wasn't an issue.

When I had a miscarriage (at 5 weeks) I bled very heavily for several days. It was at least a full week. It is extremely difficult to go to the bathroom and be reminded of what is going on. It was also difficult when the bleeding stopped and I knew it was all over. I am so sorry for you- a lot of us know how hard this is for you.
