Evidently there was a possible contamination. Now when I first saw this recall my heart went cold -- my baby just had his 2nd dosage about three weeks ago. What they're saying is no one has had any problems and if your baby was going to have problems it would have happened within the first week. I guess the big problem is they are not going to have enough dosages for this vaccine in the months to come and the real bummer is about 1000 children become sick each year without this vaccine.

Hib Vaccine Recall

Also cnn.com has a newsclip that had a lot of information.

My cousin called me last night about this. Her 2 month old just had it last week. She was freaking out! Hopefully all is well. Very scary!

This is exactly one of the reasons that I don't blindly trust doctors and vaccinations. When my ds was a newborn there was a vaccination for the rotavirus. My ds received the 1st in a series of 3 and then it was recalled.
