The host makes up a list of books for babies/children (Brown Bear, Brown Bear; Goodnight Moon, etc) and people buy off the list. This way baby starts out with a nice library of books, and doesn't end up with 5 pink frilly outfits that never get worn because baby grows out of them so fast.
