Was the recovery more painful and longer for those of you who had staples? I had a dissolving stitches for both of my kids but sometimes it feel like somebody is pinching me in the incision area .

I had staples with both my c-sections and 2 other surgeries i had. The only thing that i didn't like about it was the pulling feeling you get when they started to heal, and the soreness the day after they were removed. Dh came along with me when i had my first set removed and was asking the doctor how they removed them, she says " just like a staple remover" ugh, not what you want to hear. Have you seen how staple removers rip the staples out?!!! Only she was joking, but i didn't know that at the time and was just about freaking out when it was time to remove them.

I had dissolving stitches with both. The second time, I only had stitches on the inside and adhesive on the out. The adhesive was the best! No pulling at all.

I had staples and I had them removed before leaving the hospital. I didn't feel it when they were taken out. The actual incision never really hurt. I could feel something inside pulling and I can only assume that was the internal stitches. Really I don't think the incision itself really hurt much, just the healing.

I had staples with both...

And with dd #2 it did not hurt at all, I was in HORRIFFIC pain with dd #1 and I was so scared the second time around. After talking with the nurse, she said it so depends on who does it and who takes them out. she was so gentle, bless her!

I had staples with one myomectomy, my c-section and my bowel obstruction surgery. They mostly itched a lot when healing and it was like being pricked with a pin when they removed them...but it wasn't really painful...guess I had really nice nurses/doctors.

I had dissolvable stitches with my first myomectomy...just some itching along the incision line afterward.
