Does anyone have any suggestions, here? DS will not stay laying down for his naps! He gets up and stays sitting up until he collapses forward with his head between his feet. And he is a light sleeper, so just now, I poked my head in to check on him, debating whether or not to cover him with a blanket, and he woke up. He only slept for about 20 minutes this morning, and maybe 45 minutes just now. When he lays down to sleep, he sleeps great, but now he's crabby from not getting good naps, and I'm crabby because I can't get anything done! I nurse him right before putting him down, and he's sleepy enough to fall asleep at my breast. But as soon as I put him in the crib, he tries to get up.

During the day my dd sleeps on my bed where I have put her to sleep. But I also have music playing in the background so she is less likely to be upset by sudden sounds.

I'll be honest, Im to scared to move her after she has fallen alsleep and normally just put my pillows to the side of her so she cant move.

Especially since you're still nursing, would you be willing to stay with him until or while he falls asleep? I found I really needed the break, too, and slept with them. Kept them there! Otherwise, you can set up a cocoon and sit and read while rubbing his back to sleep. That sends dd into dreamland.

DS gave up naps very early. There came a point where I just gave in. I also set up a cocoon for him on the couch w/his favorite Baby Einstein. He usually crashed there until he was old enough not to need them. To me, the battle just wasn't worth it.

A couple of weeks ago, I was in Mommy Heaven. I had both kids in my bed, on a chilly day, under the comforter, one on each shoulder. Read them a story, then we all three napped, cuddled together. Heaven. They were in such good moods upon waking and for the rest of the day.

I used to nurse dd on the bed ( king size ) let her fall asleep and then put loads of pillows around her as well. I know it is not ideal, but neither is not taking a nap. If his waking up becomes a pattern, like after 20 mins he wakes up, try going in a little before and doing whatever it takes to get him back to sleep, to break that cycle of waking up after a short time. HTH!
