HI, my son had been sick for 2 days, congestion , runny nose and ear infection. Nothing is working for the congestion and runny nose. I tried saline drops, the bulb to suck them out, humidifier, hot shower with steam, elevate the bed and he is still refusing to nurse (only a little bit) so , i have been feeding him with a spoon (very hard) . I have been miserable since yesterday. How long does this last (the congestion). He is getting antibiotic for ear infection.

What did your pediatrician suggest to do for the congestion?

It sounds like you are doing everything you should. They will not give anything at 4 months of age. The saline and the yucky sucker is the best thing. You can also try baby Vick's on his feet. He may not want to nurse because sucking may be painful because of the ear infection. Maybe try a medicine dropper or syringe instead of a spoon. Because he is so little I would check back with the ped in a few days.
Hope he feels better soon.

It sounds like you've done everything you can. It is miserable when they are sick, especially a 4 month old. Try to hang in there, it will get better soon.
