I am very interested in trying these with my second this summer. And I found a great deal on line through Craigslist for $75.00 (I priced it out and it is over 320.00) plus she had to have them shipped to her. They are used And they go from newborn to medium size.

Well. my question is would you buy cloth diapers used?

Edited to add:

What do you do when your spouse doesn't want to pay for cloth diapers (even though you have showed him how much we will save)? He won't be the one to wash them diapers I WILL. (I can't let him touch laundry, we would be naked if so)

He said he doesn't want to use them well. He works 50-60 hours and I am a SAHM so it's not like he will have to deal with the cloth diapers 24/7 just 8 hours a week (when I'm at school). I really want this. I DO I DO. But how else can I convince my Spouse to buy them.

Hi Samantharae
I have used cloth diapers with my 8 mo old DS since birth. At first DH just thought I was crazy! I was persistent though and once he started using them he thought they were great. He even tells his father-to-be friends how great cloth diapers are and that everyone should use them!
To answer your question, yes, I would use used diapers. Just wash them in the hottest water you can to sterilize them, just in case.
Good luck!

Hello. My DH too wasn't too fond of using cloth diapers at first but once we started using htem he's fine with it. He now thinks it's a lot better than going out and buying paper diapers. I would just talk to him as much as you can saying how good they are and how much you will save in $$ and the earth too!! GL

My DH wasn't keen on it either.....to be honest, he still isn't. He kept telling me while I was pregnant "if you want to get them fine, but don't do it unless it is something you really want, because I would rather use disposables." Anyway, I went ahead and bought them. Since he didn't WANT to use them, I used cloth & when he had to keep him by himself I used disposables. Anyway, the unspoken rule became if he is wearing cloth I would change him because I knew DH didn't want to. Well I THINK what happend is, cloth diapers don't actually bother him now BUT he has an excuse not to change DS' diapers!! lol Thats my DH for you---always tries to get the easy way out (he is a good Dad, but will do anything to get out of diaper duty..even w/disposables!!)

I would have liked to have used cloth for DS, but he literally leaked out of every single diaper we tried. Then I tried Swaddlers (pampers) and they were the ONLY kind he didn't leak out of.

Maybe you could buy disposable diapers for your dh to use while you're in school. Using disposables a few times a week, while mostly using cloth diapers, would still save you money and give your baby the benefits of cloth. Maybe that would be a good compromise?

(I'm thinking ahead of time for myself and my dh, too!)
