My nose is goofy!

I decided to finally go about and wash all of baby's clothes and whatnot, since I'm getting quite a bit of it stacked up. I got a bottle of Dreft a little while ago - I used a gift card for it.

I just did my first load, and I cannot STAND the smell of it! Ugh! It makes me nauseous, and to me, it just REEKS. It's that "baby" smell that it's supposed to smell like I suppose, but UGH!

I'm reading about it, and find how people love the smell of it...what is wrong with me!

I've emailed a friend of mine that does daycare, to see if she can find someone who will "buy" it from me (I paid $15 for 64 loads, if I can get $10, I can get a different detergent). I think I'm going to just get some of the Free and Clear stuff - AFTER making sure it really doesn't "smell" to me! Ugh!

(Actually, it's really not that strange to me - I get sick from the smell of the cat/dog repellent sprays that are supposedly "odor-free" to people.... I'm weird).

I think that it smells like deoderant! I use All Baby and am also thinking about switching to the free and clear.
I think that once the clothes are washed and dried that All Baby smells softer.

You are not alone!

Also, bear in mind that you may not have to use a baby detergent at all. It depends on the baby.

I used all the Dreft and baby soap samples that I got at the hospital and in the mail, and once those were gone I switched back to my normal detergent and neither of my kids had a problem.

But some babies really do have sensitive skin (they're brand-new after all, right?) and using sensitive detergent is a must.

Good luck!
