What birth control option has been the best for you post-baby? We are not planning on having a second child but I really don't want to do anything permenant while ours is still so young. I definately don't want to be surprised though!!!

My Dr. put me on Errin, as it was safe and low progesterone for breastfeeding. He pushed the idea of using and IUD, though.

I have an IUD, and I would reccomend it. I can't do the pill becauase I can never take it at the same time everyday. The depo shot made me bitchy (more than usual ) and gain weight. With the IUD, at least with Mirena, it lasts up to 5 years and it can be taken out at any time before then if you ever do decide to have another baby. When you do get it taken out it's supposed to be like you were never on birth control. I do not have a period anymore. HTH.

I am getting a diaphragm. I was just fitted for one last week and had to have it specal ordered since I am sensitive to latex. I am curious about IUDs. How do they prevent conception? I think they prevent a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus is that right? Is there an increased risk of tubal pregnancy?
