Hello! I'm having my baby in March. I did breast feed my son, but I HATED the nursing bras that I bought last time. I got them at Target and Kohl's.
I was considering buying some through Motherhood Maternity/Nursing website, but I am a little nervous since I can not try them on.
My other option was JC Penny's.
Does anyone have experience with either one of those stores? Where did you find your FAVORITE nursing bra and what was the style?
The ones that I disliked last time had some foam padding and an under wire. They did not wash up well, and I needed to wash them often because of leakage etc. Every time they came out of the wash, the foam was all crunched up inside the fabric. It was horrible. At the same time though, I like a little padding because I am typically small busted........On a normal day I wear an A, but wear a B when nursing.

I just bought one at Motherhood, and I really like it. No underwire, no padding, easy to use clips for nursing. It was $21.
I am opposite you though - I'm pretty big now. I don't really understand how they find sizes for nursing bras, so I went to the Motherhood store and had the lady help me. I was a 36D before I was pregnant, now the nursing bra I have is a 42C. I don't pretend to understand....
This is the bra I have:
Motherhood Maternity Clothes, Maternity Clothing and Maternity Accessories On-Line
I REALLY like it - very comfy, supportive etc. The same bra non "plus" size is $16.
I'm also going to buy some nursing bras off ebay sometime soon (waiting on some craigslist sales). They are 6 for $19.99 plus shipping $7.40. They are from a pretty big seller, so I checked their feedback and contacted a buyer who had purchased them - she said they were good.
Everything I hear says no underwire because of blocking ducts and stuff. I know my bra is comfy enough to sleep in. Could you just use disposable/washable nursing pads for "padding" instead?

I know you said you did not like the nursing bras at Target last time you had a little one. But i just went to Target for a new nursing bra they wear out by a year i guess. THey had really cute ones even a black one with a little lace. So many nursing bras make you feel so un sexy necessary if you are going to nurse longer than a couple months. Good luck

I have nursed all 7 of my boys and after THINKING I needed (and buying) nursing bras and HATING them with my first.......I just started using my regular bras (not underwire) and just pulled the side up and over my breast (that I was feeding with) and pulled it back down when I was finished......not to mention that with this method, I only needed one hand to "open and close" the restaurant....LOL

mine are from motherhood and so worth it! Not too expensive, and NO underwire. They have the sport bra type one too. For me, I feel that they run a size small.
Also with motherhood, they have a very strict return policy...
other than that the bras are good ! lol

As much as I hate to admit it, my favorite nursing bra came from Walmart. (I hate WM, so it's embarassing to admit it!!!!!!!)
My first was really premature and I was glued to the NICU for weeks. It didn't matter for several months because I had to pump, so I could wear regular bras. My mom went out and bought me several - one at Target, Walmart, Motherhood, etc. It was even like $8 - ridiculously cheap.
I would suggest buying one or two when you are close to your due date, and make sure they are a little big. That first month, you may be amazed at how huge you are! If you are small chested, you may love it! Once things settle down, you will need to shop again. Then you might want the sexier look. You might also try the nursing tank top. It's easy to use this time of year under a regular shirt. They are really comfortable when you are engorged and it is easy to conceal nursing in public. In the spring, you can wear it under a t-shirt. I have several friends who swear by these - I really liked the one I had as well.

I like Bravado. Take a look at their website. Their bras are quality and they have something for pretty much every size, even when you get really big. Places like BabyCenter sell them, as do independent maternity shops.

For me good and affordable nursing bras don't fall into the same category! I wasted lots of money on several cheap (and not so cheap) nursing bras until I finally went into a specialty lingerie store and was fitted for one and left with 2 new bras for $110. But I never had to buy another one so for me it was worth the money. I should have bought the expensive ones in the first place. I am "fuller figured" though, 34 G, so it really is hard to find one that fits well. I like Anita brand.

My first ds is 1 month old now and I bought my nursing bras @ Penneys during one of their buy 2 get 1 free sale. I got two that aren't padded exactly, but are stiffer and offer more support...imo...so I wear them when I go out somewhere. I also have one from Target...eh...not impressed with that one, I wear it mostly around the house. hth

I have a ton of motherhood bras (underwire) b/c that is the only place I could find my size -they were pretty cheap (less than $20) but I don't like them. I don't think they offer much support which as a fuller figure I need!
I have 2 Medela bras and they are WONDERFUL! The support is amazing, in fact I am on my way to Buy Buy Baby to buy 2 or 3 more today. They aren't cheap but since I bf for a year or more they are worth it. I also have the medela overnight one that is a racerback style with no underwire but I don't like it, it's a pain to put on and off so I'll stick with my traditional underwire.
