so i stopped my bcp in nov,had a normal cycle in december. menses was due yesterday, still have not recieved it. havin almost like a stretching/ pullling sensation in tummy,irritable,hungry,boobs r sore. took hpt test, but it was blank, no lines showed up. not sure what to do.

The symptoms you mentioned could be either pregnancy OR period symptoms, depending on you. Do you remember having these before? Your body does change when you stop BCPs. And you could still be pregnant, but too early to show on the test. I'd try again with early morning pee in a couple of days. You could also have the Dr. test, but I don't know if that would be worth the $$s.

I know not much help, but I got all those symptoms both before periods and when I was pregnant.

I don't know HOW many tests I took before I was pregnant. Of the year between me stopping BC and getting preg, I probably could swear 8 months of the 12, I was preg. The last month, I completely forgot about my period supposed to be coming (Memorial Weekend), and later thought huh, I'm a week late! Got into the stash of tests, and sure enough, there was a plus sign!


If your test was supposed to have control lines (like some have one line in the window, then one line if neg, two lines if pos), call the manufacturer for a replacement. The strip inside may have slipped down, or it's defective. Either way, the manufacturer should send you a coupon or replacement.
