This topic came up in Green forum and I just wanted to pass this website along to everyone else about carseat expiration dates. Epinions.com - Milk has an Expiration Date and so Does Your Car Seat! According to this site most carseats expire in six years! I was looking at our Graco infant seat, the one that we bought for our daughter and have passed along to our son, and his will expire in 2009. Of course he will be out of it by then but I had planned on using her next carseat on him as well ... but I have a feeling that it will be too old.

I will post this in the toddler section as well! Sorry for the repeat but I think it is an important subject!

I had heard 5 years due to the plastic that deteriorate and do not stay as strong. I guess the same would apply to the bases.

I just learned this the other day, too! I looked on my seat and there it was, an expiration date!! My mom thought I was crazy when I told her!

Yep. The date should be stamped on the back of the seat.
