I know that I bought too many outfits for my first. She never needed a dozen 3-6 month old sleepers. What do you think is a good number?

I went WAY overboard with my first as well.

I can't say what the perfect number is, I guess it is different for everyone, but with the baby I have cut WAY back on the amount of clothing he gets and he gets a lot of 2nd hand now as well. Good thing he's the boy!

I will say one thing though. Since I have cut back so much on the amount of clothing I buy both kids, that I do find myself going for high quality of clothing and a bit more name brand though I would NEVER pay for retail for that either!

After seeing how much clothing never got used during the first couple of months I'm constantly trying to minimize how many outfits we have and actuallly get use out of them. I try to do laundry once a week so I have 7 sleepers and probably about 10 basic outfits that mix-match for throughout the week. Doesn't count some of the special holiday type stuff of course or all the extra onesies... I'm sure as his growth slows down I'll need to have more on hand for a certain size. Also as he starts running around - he'll be getting a lot dirtier!!
Between the mix/match and growing into bigger sizes and seasonal changes, before you know it I'm swapping out clothes for new ones. And like was already mentioned I end up with nicer clothing.
