RedSoxMom,
We're in the Boston area too, and I only have one other suggestion. If you're in the Boston area and want your child to go to a specific hospital in an emergency or if the child has serious issues, you might want to choose a pediatrician who is in some way affiliated with that hospital.
For us, we wanted to be sure that our kids would have an easier "path" to Children's in Boston if need be, so we made sure that our pediatrician had a relationship there. We're out in the western suburbs, but it was fairly easy to find a pediatrician that had privileges at Childrens.

LOL, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who was looking for a ped with admitting privileges at Children's! When we made the list, we only considered those who did.
It's neat that you're metrowest, my parents live in Wellesley!
