ok me and my dh were discussing how this is our last child who is goin to get fixed. he straight refuses getting anything done something bout kills ur manhood who knows. but i told him if i had a csection i would have no problem getting my tubes tied, but our ds was natural so im worried bout goin threw a surgery right after giving birth. those that have gotten tubes tied or thought bout it what is the better choice. having it done after you give birth or waiting maybe a year.

Everyone I know who got their tubes tied did it in connection with a c-section. Everyone I know who delivered naturally, their DH's got snipped. It's a much more minor surgery for him, less costly, and much faster recovery. My DH says he would never put me through such a surgery when he could have something so minor. I suggest your DH re-examine what he thinks makes him a man.

It is my understanding that you can have your tubes tied right after a natural delivery. That is does not invlove a "surgery" that they tie them within 24 hrs after delivery.
If you wait longerthatn that they have to do "surgery" and make an incision in your belly button to tie them off.

I had mine tied of and would of had it done right after delievery though I have fibriods and they wanted to wait at least 6 weeks and take the fibroid out and tie my tubes at he same time. I do not rememeber exactly what the Dr. said about doing it at delievery though do remember him saying it would have been easier to do right away rather than to come back in later.

My dh is like yours and would not have "it" done. Dr. with your Dr and see what he has to say. Good luck

I had my tubes tied within 24 hours of natuarl childbirth and they still go in through your belly button. It is still surgery and they still put you under.

I don't know that it would make a difference, except that if you do it now, you won't have to worry about it, anymore and being down for a few days in a year.

If your DH is dead set against a vasectomy, talk to your doctor about your options. There may be other, albeit possibly more permanent, ways to accomplish what you want without surgery being involved.

I had mine cut tied and burned about a year after my last son was born, I was in AGONY!! then about 10 years later I got pregnant, The surgeon could not even explain how it happenned???? They wrote an article in the medical journal about it cuz my tubes were CUT about a 1/4 inch off, so that ment the egg had to JUMP????
I would NOT advise anyone to get their tubes tied, there are lots of other things you can do..

i waited for 2 months after dd was born to tie, cut and burn my tubes. i had to wait because i wasn't 21 yet! they didn't go through my belly button. they cut at the hairline and the incision was about 6 inches long . you have to do what feels right to you. talk to your doc and see what's comfortable to you. hth
