It's not covering the strains that are out and about from what I hear. Did you have your baby get the flu vaccine? The news said 20 kids, ages 4 and under, in Iowa have died from flu and other resp. diseases this season. Scary.

My dd had the flu shot. I think there are more strains than before, but I don't think they are giving her a useless vaccine. IMO I'm sure it still covers some strands that are going around or they wouldn't give it to her.

(Well I guess they would if it was some sort of secret government plot to ruin our children.)

I just had my 6 month in for her check up and her doc said she should get it.
The flu can be very serious for kids, so there was really no question for me to give it to her.

I've never gotten a flu shot in my life, and I'm not sure that I ever will. But when I took ds in for his latest set of shots the DR recommended it, so he got it. He's not had the flu or had any reactions to it.

We don't do the shot here because every year we have we ended up sicker than the years we didn't. I know they say it's a myth you get sick but that "myth" is alive and well in this house.

That totally made me laugh.

My kids got the flu shot. None of us has been sick all season.

I heard on the news that they decide what will be in the vaccine for the next season at this time of year. A new strand of flu appeared after they made the decision last year. In a global society, it is almost impossible to cover everything.

Having said that, I always get flu shots for everyone hoping it will protect us from some of the viruses. One less bought with the flu is worth it to me.

My son, dh and I all got the flu shot. My son (2.5) got the flu mist, he didnt even wimper. I thought it was the greatest thing ever that he didnt need an ingection. Plus, usually no matter what vaccine he gets he has cold like symptoms, but not with the flumist. Ill be doing it next year too for sure!
