Oh no!!! This was not meant to make you feel bad! My ds did not get his MMR until he was 15 months old, that is how our insurance schedules it.
This article was not meant to scare you, I'm sure your son is safe. I just wanted to bring awareness to the people who feel that measles is an outdated disease and choose to not vaccinate before preschool etc, because of autism fears.
Please don't stress, you son will be fine!

This makes me think about one of the moms at preschool. She is hyper sensitive about everything and will strike out at other moms in line if she hears something she doesn't like. She hasn't gotten immunizations for any of her children. She has a written statement that getting immunizations is against her religion. It is not really against her religion but she is scared of the mercury. She has one child that has autism. I can totally sympthaize with her trying to take control but at what cost?

Thanks -- I didn't think the baby had had it yet. And I'm not going to freak out about this! Of course my husband is going to L.A. next month. Sigh

You know that is funny (well not funny ha ha) but I have a friend who has a daughter with autism. So I asked her if she ever thought it was from the immunizations and she said never has. But that is her.

I am a very strong believer in immunizations! I know some people think that autism may be linked to immunizations, and that is scary, but as far as I know there is no proven connection.
The diseases that immunizations treat are REAL and could very well be fatal. Not to mention cause outbreaks in untreated children. I don't want to offend anyone that feels differently, but I do think it is irresponsible not to get your children vaccinated.

Immuzations are important! I remember when my oldest went to preschool you were not admitted unless you were caught up on ALL your shots!
