This is scary. There's been a measles outbreak in San Diego, the children spreading the disease are school age kids who have not had the MMR because their parents were concerned about autism. Now several babies too young for the vaccine have been infected too, very dangerous and measles can be fatal.

Thats the one shot he hasnt had yet. Someone REMIND me tomorrow to call and ask my mommy for the number! Please! I would call her now but its late and she was traveling all day!

Not a good thing. How old are children before they get that measles shot? I forget which one is which.

I think the MMR vaccine is usually given to children, who have the first injection when they are about 13 months old. A second dose is given between the ages of three and five years old to cover any children who haven't responded to the first one.

The first MMR vaccine is typically given at the one year visit with the booster given at approximately 4 years of age.

Sheila, don't beat yourself up about. My son couldn't have the regular shots at birth so he was a little behind.. ITS OKAY.. sheila.. (He's not in a daycare setting or anything, where he would get exposed more easily is he)... If not just calm down and take some extra precautions till you get the shot..

I am gonna try and get him in on Monday. He hasnt had his 12 month visit cause we moved a month before his 1st birthday. I still feel like a bad mom.
