I feel so bad, i feel terrible. My 6 months old fell down the bed to the floor. I asked my 9 year old ds to hold him while he was crying so I can clean up the kitchen and in a minute I heard him screaming, he took him to his room, put him on his bed and decided to change his clothes. My ds has been involved with the baby since he was born and always playing with him and holding him with no problem. That's why I let him holding him. I always explained to him to never put him on the bed since he is rolling and he safest place for him is on the floor. I am very mad at him and at myself most of all because I feel it is my fault. My baby is acting normal but I was terrified that something bad had happened to him. I spent my whole day feeling so guilty and feeling bad for my baby.

My first grandbaby fell off the bed onto a rug and we have hard tile floors!!!! She was little and DH had her , he says she just jumped off, she was about 9 months - a year. My dd called me yesterday and said she woke up and my oldest gdd who is 2 was screaming and crying--No Baby, get my baby! She said the 9 month old had slid off the bed and the 2 year old was hanging on to her by one leg keeping her from hittilg the floor. They have new very padded carpet and thier bed is close to the floor ours wasn't, but thankfully she was fine.

That is miserable. I know my daughter fell off the bed at that age and my son fell out of his carseat at three months. On both of them I blamed myself. At least your baby sounds OK. Don't beat yourself up too much. I think most of them have done it one time or another.

DD fell from bed( nearly 2.5 feet) onto hardwood floors. She had a bump for about 10 minutes. The guilt is the worst and I learnt one life long lesson.

Poor baby!!!!

Ok, this happens to everyone I think! When my son was six months old, I proped him up in the corner of the couch. I was folding laundry RIGHT in front of him. Before I could stop it, he rolled off and landed in between my legs. I felt horrible too!
It's only a foot or so. It's not like it was from the changing table or something. And, you would know if somethin was "wrong" with him. Don't worry!

This has happened to every single one of my 3 children. You would think I would have learned the first time but sometimes we forget how early they roll over ect. I have my 7 year old DS help with baby Ds also. You aren't a bad parent. I know I felt bad each time it happened as well.

It does happen to everyone, so don't sweat it too much! My daughter fell off the bed when she was about 6 months old. She was fine!

I agree, its happened to me, my husband and even our babysitter! So, if it can happen while adults watch them, it certianly can happen while another sibling watches them! Im sure your 9 yr old feels really bad too! I have come to find too, in our many accidents, babies are SOOOOO resilient and they'll NEVER remember the many spills they take. I worry more about how many times my DS runs into something hitting his head! haha
