Hi there - just found out that the bouncy seat I ordered in January will now (who knows why) not be manufactured until 2009. So - I'm perplexed. Again.

This is baby #3 and I've already tossed the old fisher price one (youngest will be six in june) ... I've come across three that I like online but other than the price differences - I'm not sure what else there is that would make one SO much better than the others.

Does anyone have a favorite bouncy seat that they use?

TIA,
Kristie

I had the Baby Papasan and The Ocean wonders Aquarium - I liked both, but not impressed by the Papasan for it's price. The toy hanging from the top is a total waste.

A friend gave me one by Bright Starts - not sold now - it had 3 positions - liked it for I could adjust the position and let her nap in it.

I got this that I just love for my daughter, and she loves it too. It's an infant to toddler rocker. You can keep using it until the child is 40 pounds! I take it almost everywhere with me that I know she won't have an approperate child seat. I think if you're going to spend the money for something like this, than why not get something that will last for more than a year?

My ds loved the fisher price ocean wonders aquarium bouncy seat. It vibrated, lit up, played music and there were bubbles and fishies to watch. I used to prop him with his bottle in it and he would suck it down while watching the bubbles.
In fact, I also recommend the fp aquarium take along swing too, it's compact and fun.
My friend has the kind that turns into a rocker and it's pretty cool.

We used the aquarium bouncy seat for both babies. My youngest was addicted to it. She screamed when I took her out. I ended up having to let her sleep in it. I put it in her crib at night so she'd be off the floor. I just couldn't let her sleep on the floor!! We received a regular swing for a shower gift for our 1st pregancy but it broke. I replaced it with the aquarium take along swing and was quite pleased. She didn't love it as much as the bouncer but it worked great and didn't take up half the living room.

My daughter had a terrible time sitting in it until she was old enough to hold her head up well and almost sit up on her own. The toys were useless because they were practically over her head... she did like the toys when I took them off.

Invest in the regular style. We are expecting baby number two and plan to buy a new bouncer seat even though the old one is in great condition because it just wasn't good for younger babies.

If you get one, save the receipt (put it under your silverware drawer) in case your baby doesn't like it. DS totally hated his bouncy seat.. I mean, HATED it! He'd scream as soon as I tried to put him in it. He did love his swing though - it was one of those portable ones that was really low to the floor. That swing was one of my top 3 baby items.
