The first time each of my girls slept through the night without needing a feeding as a baby I woke up and took off for the room just to make sure they were ok. Anyone else have that morning panic the first time they slept through the night?

I did that the first time DD slept for a couple hours longer than "normal". She had been going from 9pm to 12m, but one night I woke up and it was 2am. I have the walkie talkie type monitor, and didn't hear much, so I jumped out of bed, stepped on the dog, scared DH, and ran out to her. She was sleeping peacefully. I ended up watching TV and pumping, and at 3am she woke up. Since then she sleeps at least to 2am each night.

OMG! I still check on everyone at least twice a night. I get up to make sure everyone is still breathing, and cover them up. No wonder I am so exhausted in the morning!!

I check on DD even now - she's going to be a year old. But the first time was scary - but people kept asking me what I did to look so good - a good night's sleep can do wonders.

Uh....yes! but I had her is a bassinett in our room for like the 1st 4-5 months of her life because I wanted to be able to hear every cough and sneeze!!

Also, when she was a newborn, she liked that snuggled feeling when she slep, so I stuck her boppy in her bassinett and she slept really well in that thing. Then, when she was about 2 months old. she scooted herself down in the middle of the night, I work up, looked over and I see her head and neck sticking straight up at a really awkward angle! I freaked! I jumped up...grabbed her and wound up waking her up!! Oh I was shaken for about an hr! All I could do was hold and kiss her! My worst fear was and still is, something happening to my little one!

Yes. I'd sit up in the bed quickly and wonder if they were ok. What a wonderful feeling to finally sleep through the night again.
