I followed the recipe exactly that my ped. gave me and ended up with moldy wipes. I now get the giant Huggies Pop Up refill, I spend $6 and it lasts for 3 months. Some things are just not worth it for me to save on.

Curious. I've definitely never had a problem with mold before.

I like to make my own wipes because I can control what gets put in them. If they're cheaper than commercial wipes, that's just another bonus (I never really figured it out). I actually think I prefer them to commercial wipes now anyway.

I think it's a great idea to make your own wipes. I actually made my own cloth wipes out of flannel, baby washcloths, and scrap material. I use warm water, a little baby oil and baby wash in them. They work very nice and can be tossed right into my diaper pail. Saves a ton of money in the long run.
