I've never heard of G diapers. Are those a brand of cloth? We use pampers now but my little one has started potty training so I'm hoping to be done with those by the time #4 gets here in August and I was thinking of switching to cloth for her to be more earth-friendly. So I'm hoping someone here can give you some good advice since I want to know also!

G Diapers are the newest development in environmentally friendly diapers. While they're not quite cloth diapers, they're not quite disposable diapers either.

G Diapers are similar to cloth diapers because they are a diapering system. The diapering system consists of a flushable pad and a pair of "little g" pants. The flushable pad fits right into the snap in liner of the "little g" pants. The "little g" pants are 100% water resistant, very breathable, and absolutely adorable. Unlike cloth diapers, G Diapers require no laundry, diaper pail, or folding diapers.

You don't throw them in the trash, just flush them.

I simply don't like this idea. I'm a mama of all cloth. So I don't have any suggestions or tips on these diapers as they would not be a diaper I'd try out in my home. Each family is different. I hope a mama here has some better tips on these diapers. Sorry!!

I can say that buying my diaper stash cost me $300-$450 and that was covers, liners and all the sorts of mixed diaper styles and kinds. Mine were purchased used..Only 15 diapers were new when I purchased them. Buy used and clearance or on sale diapers and you will make that diaper budget stretch and you'll have plenty of diapers. I have enough diapers right now to diaper 3 babies a day Yup I went a lil over board, but I bargained. I also have the advantage that I sew my own diapers, liners and covers too

I use and love g diapers. My only problem is that they are soo pricey. They are better for the environment than either cloth or disposable.

Thanks for your description of the G diapers Southernmama!

How are they better for the environment than cloth? I don't understand that if they are flushed? I'm going to have to research this!

Well I just joined and read your post so I might be a little late with this but here it goes. G diapers are ok but they still get pricey since you still have to buy inserts and only get 1 cover. What happens when baby has a blow out diaper? I personally use and love fuzzi bunz and happy heineys. I prefer fb since they have snaps instead of velcro. Fuzzi bunz are pocket diapers that require an insert but easy to use and care for. My dd is 5 months old, I have approximately 30 diapers and only have to do a load of diapers about every 5 days or so. They are super easy to wash. I agree there is a huge start out fee but you can usually find people selling their out grown ones pretty reasonably. I have been using the same diapers from when she came home and she still has room to grow. Hope this helps.
