Well Sort of. He knows two comes after one and then three. He refuses to say one. then comes 6. So my 1 year old counts like this two three six. He acts like he is counting things like he will touch something while he says it. I will say Noah say one and he responds two three

I taught my kids to count by always counting things like stairs. So when we'd walk up stairs I'd go "one, two, three..." and so didn't make it like I was trying to teach them, just made it like a fun part of going up stairs. I taught them to count from one to ten in spanish and german by counting how many little buckets of water I'd dump over their hair in the tub while rinsing it. (eins, zwei, drei, etc) So I'd just incorporate learning into all our everyday routines. Of course you're probably already doing that, but "grandma" needs to chime in here anyway.

Yeah I count with him all the time. He is really smart. Thanks Grandma Pam! I never thought about counting in other languages. I will do that when he gets a little older.

It takes a while, but before you know it he'll be counting along.

That's good, no matter what!
My 3 year old nephew, YES 3, still won't say his name when you ask him "what's your name?" "meee" is his reply.
He's way behind.

It kills me to say that about a mother, but she's in her own world, and pays him no attention, and especially doesn't TEACH HIM ANYTHING, in any way shape or form. Oh yeah, I forgot, I should credit her for teaching him how to act like a puppy and letting him eat his food off a plate on the floor, because its' cute. Not cute. I hope he does some serious catching up before pre-school.....geeze. Even if they would do something like day care or mother's day out, he would be socialized with other small children and it could force him to communicate with kids. Not happening as of yet.
