Ok, so we got our sonogram of our little ones. They are both girls and we won't know if they are identical until they are born. It took forever to see the genders and we still don't "see" what the sonogram lady saw that made her declare them both girls.

They were cute too. We saw one bonk the other in the forehead with an elbow and they were really moving. Funny stuff.

Trouble is...I wanted a boy so bad! I feel awful. I've been crying and bumming around all day feeling horribly selfish and yucky. We know they are doing well, so I really have nothing to complain about. But I feel awful and sad.

Since we are having twins, we get sonograms every 4 weeks now. I just don't want to hang my hat on the hope that next time we go in a penis will magically appear. KWIM?

Congrats on your babies! It must of been very exciting watching the two of them!!

I think it is perfectly normal to be a little disappointed when you didn't get the sex that you had hoped for ... of course once they get here and you'll see them, I think, you'll find that it really doesn't matter what you have! You seem to love it either way and think it really was the perfect baby (or babies in your case) for you!

Congrats!

What you're feeling is completely normal - believe me. I have two boys and desperately wanted a girl. Both times I was disappointed when the sonogram said boy (and it was clear both times). But, the disappointment did pass and I certainly wouldn't trade my boys for anything! Of course, in about 5 weeks I'll be going through it again at my 20 week ultrasound for my current pregnancy. Again, we really want a girl, but after 2 boys, my chances are pretty slim. It'll be bittersweet since this will probably be the last, but I do trust that God has a hand in this and He knows what's best for me (even if I don't!).

And while it's "possible" that the tech got the gender of one of the babies wrong, I certainly wouldn't count on it ...but then, you know that already!

Best of luck and congratulations on your two little miracles.

congrats on your babies! don't feel too bad about your feelings... I had to find out the sex of my 2nd baby, because I knew I would need some adjustment time if it would have been a boy!

It's all normal

Oh, yeah, I felt that way with my first two. I wanted a girl and they were both boys. I was ok with the first since we didn't find out until he was born so the disappointment was so fast, but with the second we did find out and I was so disappointed most of my pregnancy. I knew once I saw him I would love him and he has been quite the blessing even if he is a handful at times.

Don't worry about it because when those two girls are here, you know you will love them.

Oh yeah, I posted this same thing a few weeks ago! Our 4th is another girl and I really wanted a boy.

Just think happy penis growing thoughts LOL

At least the girl stuff is so cute and fun to shop for, when you see all the cute pink frilly stuff you'll be happier!

I had wanted a girl when we were preggers with our oldest son. When i found out it was a boy i was in shock.....but you know what i wouldn't change anything now.

Remember the most important thing is that they are healthy. These little girls are a blessing and be happy that you are able to have not one but two beautiful babies. Some aren't able to have any at all.

When I found out that I was pregnant with my first I wanted a girl so bad. When we found out we were having a boy I was really dissapointed. I had this vision of a little girl who would look just like me and dress just like me and act just like me. I just couldn't figure out what I was going do with a boy. As soon as I started buying clothes and things to decorate his nursery I was over it. And when they laid him on my chest for the first time, that was it! I was completly boy crazy! Now I have 3 boys! You will feel the same way when your little girls are born

That is one of the reasons we decided to not find out the sex of our children ahead of time. You cannot be disappointed when you are holding a newborn, no matter if the sex is different than what you were hoping for!

Congrats on your little girls!!

I have to admit that I was a little disappointed, but more for dh because I know that he wanted a girl soooo bad. I had to keep asking him if he was okay and if it was okay we were having a girl. Don't get the wrong impression about dh. He was fine it was all me that was worried for him.

CONGRATULATIONS. I so wish I could have twins. I will pray that you have 2 beautiful babies and a great pregnancy.
