We carry a One Step Ahead backpack diaper bag we got from eBay. I'm one of those dorks who still carries lots of stuff, everyday. But, there have been lots of times when moms have asked me if I have a certain item they might borrow. Of course I have it!!! I like to be prepared.
Carrying it on my back keeps my hands free while we still have all we need, and more . Oh, and it also has insulated sippy cup holders on both sides so the twins always have cold water. We also carry lots of snacks with us.

I just had a baby 5 weeks ago, and the hospital still gave out the free diaper bag. My doctors office never gave them out, it was always the hospital. My oldest is 16, there are 6 more kids and then the baby, and I have gotten a diaper bag each time {I actually got two~one for each twin when they were born 2.5 years ago}
I only use the free ones from the hospital too........I am able to carry the twins stuff (still in diapers) and the new babies stuff in one of the free bags!! I am lucky that none of my babies have been "puke babies" as we refer to it........so I could just carry one extra outfit each, not an entire dresser full of clothes in the diaper bag.

I personally I love bags..BIG and SMALL..When it comes to diaper bags well frankly I think it's more of a family bag..I pack snacks, diapers, clothing, money, sunglasses, anything dh needs to be carried...and since we Cloth Diaper we can't use a small bag..
I make my own diaper bags and purses and I love having several to choose from since I can pick my fabric and sew.
My favorite diaper bag right now (even though we don't carry one anymore) is the Amy Butler: Nappy Bag.
Amy Butler
It's stylish and it's useable.

I just had a baby in December. We recieved a free bag at the hospital from Enfamil. It is really a nice big bag. I decided that I would just use it.

We have several diaper bags. The one we use the most is our baby bjorn. DH uses it exclusively. It took a little getting used to because it's hard-sided but, it's very organized.
If I'm using the big stroller I use a messenger style diaper bag from carters because it's roomy and it has separate straps to attach to the stroller handle.
I keep a mini pack in each vehicle with 2 diapers, wipes, a changing pad and purell wipes for quick trips around town. I don't go far from home for errands so I can throw a bottle in my big purse and just have a diaper kit in the van for an emergency.
For out of town trips I use a backpack that I bought for my work laptop. I hated it for the laptop because it was super heavy but, it's absolutely perfect for baby gear. It was the swiss army knife brand.
I'm a little obsessive when it comes to bags.

I got a decent diaper bag from LL Bean.com, it is very functional and not too big. I worked full time till about two weeks ago and I needed a bag that held a lot of stuff for daycare. Some diaper bags they have now are so expensive. I overheard a girl talking at babies r us, she was telling her friend she ordered a diaper bag that cost over $150.00!! Now that is disposable income...
