Hi, I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my first and was wondering how much longer I have got to attack my 'to do' list. Should i try to get everything done before the last 4 weeks? (Things like cleaning out house, scrapbooking wedding album, sorting baby clothes, making freezable dinners)
I am starting to feel like I am heaps slower now, how did other people go with keeping busy?
Thanks,
Catherine

I would try to get as much stuff done now as possible. I got my nursery furniture setup around 30 weeks and I am glad I did because I have so much stuff to do still that I would be a little stressed trying to do it all. I would say to scrapbook and clean now. However, I would hold off on sorting the baby clothes - you will probably have so many more by the end you will end up resorting them anyways. If you have room in your freezer, I would say go ahead and make the dinners - I just have NO room so I haven't even tried that. If there are any classes you want to take, I would say go ahead and take them now and hospitals have some for free a lot of the time.

Hope this helps! Don't stress though, you will get everything you need to get done just in time. But my advice is to do it sooner than later as you will be busy with last minute preparations the closer you get to the due date and your last weeks will FLY by. I can't believe I only have 2 weeks left. Still on my to-dos : Get car seat/stroller, get breastpump, get sized for nursing bra, baby laundry (3 loads down, proabably 2 more to go - I have a lot of hand-me-downs and new stuff!), carseat installation, clean house, baby shower thank you cards, and I think that is all I have on my mind right now!

Another piece of advice if you start feeling slow and tired - get female relatives or friends to help. I have been nesting like crazy and my DH isn't very much into it. However, this weekend my mom came over and helped me so much to get everything clean and I had energy left over when we were done. It was so much easier with her help and she enjoyed being able to help. Plus it was practice for her when she is going to help clean once the baby is here

Typical pregnancies are 40 weeks long. The last few weeks may have you feeling really run down and exhausted. So get anything physical out of the way first (assembling toys or small pieces of furniture, hunting down that one last thing you didn't get at the baby shower, etc.) and save the things you can do while sitting still for your larger, more uncomfortable days. By 38 weeks, with both of my pregnancies, I was crying every night from the exhaustion of carrying a baby around. I wasn't used to the amount of weight I was carrying - unfortunately now I am used to it, and I'm not pregnant. Anyway, you'll be delivering before you know it!

I would say get everything done as soon as possible, it gets too tiring towards the end to do anything and then you will be stressing about the things you didnt do! I think 33-34 weeks is good.

I'm ready to have baby #3. I am due Nov. 20th but may be induced the 6th, so I am down to 4 weeks. YIKES! I want this baby out, but we aren't ready for him!

Yes, do all you can now, I am finding it hard to breathe, going up the stairs wears me out. I am trying to work 15 min. and take at least a 5 min. break between tasks. Now if my 4 yr. old hurricane would sit still life would be so much easier!

I'd do the big stuff, assemble the furniture, have rooms cleaned (close off the ones you can), laundry done, meals prepared if you have room (I am planning this now), and save the sit-down stuff for your last few weeks. But don't forget to prioritize, you could wind up in labor and not gotten to something important!

Thanks for the advice. I will take your ideas into account when I sit down this avo to prioritise my to do list. Its a bit daunting at the moment, but maybe I just need to put some things into a maybe list for if I feel like doing them.
