When I was first pregnant with my dd, I was about 5 weeks and there was a gush of blood (sorry so graphic).. I bled for maybe 10-15 minutes heavy, then just spotted for a couple hours. I ended up going to the emergency room and being tested and had ultrasound... everything looked ok at the time. The doctor told me that it was probably blood clots that were in the uterus when the baby was latching onto the uterine wall. I spotted one other time a couple weeks later, but after that, everything was good.

This sounds like what I experienced, other than the continued spotting. I am still pregnant but the baby's heartbeat is very low. I had a second ultrasound on Friday and the heartbeat was still low but had actually gone up. So we're trying to be hopeful. My doctor said there's a 50/50 chance that the baby will still pass away. Or everything could be fine from here out. So we're sorta in a holding pattern, just waiting to see what'll happen. We're hoping the baby will continue to get stronger and that we'll reach the "magical" 12th week with no further problems. But we are also preparing ourselves for the worse, as best as we can anyway.

Thanks for all the good thoughts and well wishes!

I've had one miscarriage when I was 24...I bled and I was in so much pain, I thought it was just a bad period. But when I look back, I had to be about 6 weeks b/c I remember being 2 weeks late, I saturated a super plus tampon in 5 minutes, and cramped to where I felt like I was going to pass out. Again, I got pregnant and just had a miscarriage 2 months ago at 14 weeks. So I'm not sure...but I am seeing a really good Dr.
