LOL, well books here aren't "toys" - they are a fact of life!
I am partial to the books I've had, like the AA Milne set (which she got a new one as a gift - my fav is James James Morrison Morrison Weather by George Dupree out of the "When We Were Very Young"). I do read out loud of my books too her, but I'm not too sure she gets the whole Dick Francis kick I'm on right now. I did order a whole bunch of books from that Southwestern company - a college kid was selling them - because I was pleased with them, and hope to use them for teaching her to read. ( http://www.southwestern.com/site/com...aspx#KidsBooks - we got My Books and My Fun With Words).
She has some other books too. I wish I could get a hold of the Sweet Pickles set I had when I was little - those were awesome! Course, they probably aren't PC now....
I myself read every single night, and often when DH watches TV, I read something - a book or a magazine. I love reading.
